"Chervona Ruta" - a popular Ukrainian song written by Vladimir Ivasyukom in 1968 and performed by many singers. Song has not received an official copyright, and because of their fame considered Ukrainian folk song. It is named after the mythological flower, Red Ruth, which, if it finds a young girl to bring luck in love. & Nbsp; 
 "Chervona Ruta", known in Ukraine and other ethnic communities that were once part of the Soviet Union, and most likely, it will sing at weddings, karaoke and other public places.

The song and its melody was written by 19-year-old student of Chernivtsi Medical Institute, Vladimir Ivasyukom. Vladimir found his father in the library collection "Kolomyyky" (by Vladimir Hnatiuk collection), which were traditional folk songs Carpathians. Ivasjuk was puzzled by the mention of "Chervona Ruta" in some of kolomyyok. "Chervona Ruta" literally means red flower, however, flowers plants rue yellow. According to local legend, Ruta becomes red day Midsummer within minutes. Red Ruta is also associated with an attractive alpine plant with medicinal properties Rhododendron myrtifolium, which also grows in the Carpathian Mountains in western Ukraine.

The first public performance of "Chervona Ruta" (and debut Ivasiuk) was Sept. 13, 1970, in a television broadcast from the theater in Chernivtsi performed by the author and Elena Kuznetsova. In 1971, the Ukrainian pop group "Smerichka" performs "Red Ruta" and it further helped increase the popularity of the song. Made "Smerichka", won the title song "Song of the Year" in a television -1971 song contest in Moscow. As well as some winners in other Eastern European countries in the implementation of other groups. In 1971 he was made a film Chervona Ruta, who showed Ivasyuka many songs, including the song "Chervona Ruta", performed by Sofia Rotaru and Basil Zinkevych. In 1972, the song was included in the Czech singer Pavel Liska his album "Písničky Pro Každý Den", a Ukrainian folk song. The translation was made by Ronald Kraus. "Red Ruta" was the debut song Ruslana (which later won the Eurovision Song Contest 2004), which she performed at the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk in 1996 for her presentation, she took first place with maximum points (10) of all jury and received the greetings of President of Belarus. Today, a full translation adapted and execution made by the author Ukrainian and Irish descent Pasichnyk Stepan (Stepan Pasicznyk). "Chervona Ruta" is one of the most popular Ukrainian songs and was performed by many singers.
